PRP Under Eye

Let A Little PRP Clear

Up Your Under Eye Circles!

What Does PRP Mean?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections as a treatment for the face stimulates new collagen, enhances microcirculation and regrowth of new healthy skin.

The highest quality PRP is harvested from your own blood, providing a naturally occurring injectable for cellular support.

Dark circles that appear under eyes are commonly caused by shadows that come from aging. The contours of the skin around the eyes change and often increase as a person grows older. This changing skin gives the appearance of dark circles, which can be unsightly. For patients searching for a treatment option that is more effective than topical creams but less invasive than surgery, PRP injections is a very popular choice.

The Procedure

For under-eye injections we use the technique of harvesting PRP and injecting into the dermal layers of your skin.

During the procedure, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the skin under the eyes. The treatment generally takes between 30 to 60 minutes to complete. For best results, it is recommended that patients undergo as many as three treatments, with at least a month of healing time between each session.

The procedure has no associated down time.

The End Result

PRP injections repair the skin under the eyes where the dark circles are seen. Many patients report seeing results from their treatment in as few as two days after a session. However, it is important to note that it can take time to see the complete results of a PRP injection.

Many patients continue to see results long after their original PRP injection. In fact, most patients enjoy the results of their treatment and continued improvement for six to 12 months after the original injection.

Most patients are very happy with the results of their PRP injection procedures and studies show that the results of treatment are oftentimes better than the results from topical creams and other non-invasive procedures.

The End Result

We recommend a peel to accelerate the natural exfoliation process which will keep your skin looking fresh.

For those with sensitive skin or minor issues an enzyme peel produces the following results:

  • Controls acne, shrinks pores, and removes blackheads

  • Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, and some scarring

  • Reduces age spots and redness

For those with more severe issues the chemical peel is best when it comes to:

  • Diminishing fine lines and wrinkles

  • Smoothing pigmentation and acne scars

  • Shrinking large pores

  • Tightening sagging skin

Depending on your skin type and need we can help find a treatment that is right for you.

Is the procedure painful?

As with any injection type therapy there is minor irritation. Patients generally experience a feeling of red or tender skin for a few days.

How many sessions will I need?

Typically patients need more than one treatment. It's common for patients, depending on the severity of the issue that is being addresses, to need 3 or more treatments.

How long does it take?

The process usually takes around 30 minutes, but can take a little longer in some cases.

How is urinary incontinence diagnosed?

The condition is diagnosed mainly on the pattern of symptoms. Keeping a urinary diary (a record of daily urination, urine accidents and fluid intake) can help your health care provider determine patterns and establish the working diagnosis. The provider will also ask questions about your general health, your history of incontinence, past surgeries, illnesses and any medication you're taking. A physical examination, including a pelvic exam, will be done, and a urine sample will be tested.

Sometimes other, more complicated tests may be needed to establish or confirm the diagnosis or to guide treatment.

How does incontinence relate to age?

Incontinence should not be considered to be a normal condition of aging. Elderly patients should be evaluated in essentially the same way that patients of any age should be evaluated. Incontinence is certainly more common as patients age, but incontinence can be seen in children, adolescents, and adults.

Why should I care about my bladder control problem?

People often live with incontinence without seeking help. Many cases can be cured or controlled with appropriate treatment. Urinary incontinence is the second leading cause of institutionalizing elderly people. The problem can contribute to decreased socialization, decreased quality of life and depression. Getting up at night to urinate also increases the risk of falling and fracturing a hip.
